Counsellor Placements

HELP Counselling Services provides its services entirely through the kind and generous efforts of its volunteer counsellors. From time to time we have new volunteer placement opportunities and seek counsellors who are in training or fully trained counsellors wishing to gain a wider range of experience, or those counsellors who are working towards accreditation.

At HELP Counselling Services we are able to offer a warm and supportive atmosphere in which to fully experience a wide and interesting range of clients. We offer:

• External monthly supervision with a qualified supervisor of the counsellors’ choice, up to a value of £60 for 3 weekly clients
• Internal guidance from staff and colleagues
• A monthly peer supervision group
• Full Induction Process
• Informal social evenings
• Training events

We ask that counsellors:

• Have a minimum commitment of three clients per week at a regular time slot for at least one year
• Work primarily Face-to-Face, with some Teams and Telephone work
• Have trained or are in training on a CPCAP, UKCP or BACP course
